Understanding the disease — and how technology can help those living with it.
Parkinson's disease is a chronic, progressive neurological condition that disrupts the brain's ability to control movement. As dopamine-producing neurons deteriorate over time, People with Parkinson's Disease (PwPD) experience a widening range of symptoms — from tremors, muscle rigidity, and slowed movement to balance problems, fatigue, sleep difficulties, and cognitive changes. No two cases are alike, but the disease's progression places growing demands on every aspect of daily life. The weight of that progression falls not only on PwPD but on their caregivers as well — typically spouses, adult children, or close friends who take on increasing responsibilities for personal care, medication management, safety, and emotional support, often at significant cost to their own health and well-being. Despite the dedication of researchers worldwide and real progress in managing symptoms, a cure for Parkinson's disease has not yet been found.
Quadralynx was founded with a clear purpose: to build technology that makes life better for PwPD and the people who care for them. Our team is developing a new generation of products and services — including wearable biosensors, connected mobile and desktop applications, and real-time monitoring and alerting tools — designed around the real challenges that PwPD and caregivers face every day. We have conducted more than 700 customer interviews and are working closely with clinical advisors to ensure our solutions are grounded in evidence and built for practical use. These products are in active development and will be coming to market in the near future.
